Defying Gravity – New Photography Exhibit Shows Extraordinary Rock Formations
Prepare to be in awe when you witness rock formation art! Gravity-defying is one word to describe these structures created by the Twin Cities’ own artist, Peter Juhl. Fortunately – the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, just 4 miles west of downtown Chanhassen, is showcasing all of the photos for his new exhibit.
Entitled “Center of Gravity II”, the art show will have 34 photographs of these wondrous rock shapes! The grand opening of the photo gallery is set for Saturday, April 5, in the Restaurant Gallery of the Arboretum’s Visitor Center. There will be many opportunities to see this visual artwork until May 17th!
For nearly two decades, Juhl has been creating and then photographing the temporary rock structures. He wanted to combine performance art, sculpture and meditation – and he succeeded. Also know as the “rock star”, Juhl is going to continue his journey in making his creations, usually along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Make a trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen this spring!
